As opposed to counting targets hit and destroyed. (I don't think they are close enough to see the damage done.)

If you drop 10 bombs and destroy 9 targets that is probably equivalent to a Northern Alliance action wherein hundreds of bombs are droped with many missed targets.

Our method just doesn't put on as good a light show for the bystanders.

I saw a the news report which showed the Norther Alliance lighting off a heavy artillery shell by leaning it against some rocks and lighting it on fire… The shell fired off, but nearly hit the cameraman. No target could ever be hit using that method.
