PC on campus

Your link opened to a blank page, so I can't comment on it.

However, I've always had doubts about some of the curricula which seemed to emerge in the 70's, and I would include "women's studies" in that group, along with other coursework which seemed to cater to minorities of one kind of another.

I've come to the conclusion that the emergence of such studies represents a reaction against perceptions of a white, male-dominated society.

There's no doubt in my mind that such flimsy, but politically correct coursework has had a negative effect on the intellectual level of the universities, but perhaps such studies have helped a whole lot of people feel better about themselves in a way that studying physics or logic, for example, cannot.

That is the purpose of our colleges. no?

I was going to add the comment that there would be a hue and cry if some university suddenly started offering a course in "Men's Studies," but then I realize we've had it all along...

They call it football.
