However, a truck bomb is a lot bigger and more expensive (though not if you steal it!) than an e-bomb, so maybe they would make potential weapons after all. There is a fine line between paranoia and being aware of all possible threats.
Charles Sheffield wrote a novel, Aftermath, that describes the world after an extrasolar event destroys all semiconductors on Earth. Interesting ideas, though not the best writing.
