To noble old cars

I raise a toast! To your G/A Dan, and may you remeber it fondly.

So many cars we've had I remember with such fondness from a 66 LeMans Coupe to an 85 Fifth Avenue, which finaly gave it up after 312 K miles, gave it to a kid I knew, He doctored on it for a while and drives it still.

I am not a big fan of the Samuri, though a lot of poeple like them. And as usual the Japanese engineering behind them makes them last well. Only drawback is the cost of repairs. (Them Nipponese parts is expensive!)

I bought a Nissan 4 by 4 a few years back, nothing fancy had the standard wheels and some agressive snow tires. My cousins, you know the ones with the Monster Mudder super jumbo puppy squisher tires and a stepladder to get in those jacked up Chevy's and Fords, laughed their collective areses off at it, called it a 'toy'.

Untill we had to move some cattle out of the Ark river bottom, after a lot of rain. I went around Leroy, stuck in a creek. Asked him if he needed a pull,he didn't even look up at me "Nah, be just a few and beat you to the back fence."
An hour later I drove arond him again, though the creek, in deeper spot. He'd moved about a foot. Stopped and asked him if he might want a pull.
Now, I've heard a Master Supply Sargeant getting a stuck six by six out of a ditch, with a hangover and green drivers.

Such a masterful command of invective I've only witnessed surpassed but once, by my cousin, about that $@%!(%(((%((((^%!@#$%&! pile of Jap Crap, that never got stuck.

I drove that damned truck over 280 Kmiles a lot of it offroad, in some really bad places, it never once let me down.
I sure wish I had it back!
