The choice perceived during Desert Storm was Saddam or geenral Mideast War
They chose Saddam, and now, 10+ years later, we will likely have a General War.
I am not sure we had a better choice then, but the mismanagement of the inspection protocols, and the ducking of responsibility in the face of WTC'93, the barracks in Saudi, and the embassies is going to be seen for what it was: incredibly irresponsible.
