I wonder if the US Gov. ever did a cost analysis of purchasing all the opium and cocain produced in the world. Taking into consideration all the expenditures on law enforcement and anti drug campaigns. We could let it be known to all drug producers that we will buy all the drugs that they produce, at the wholesale price. They would have to keep production a current levels and police themselves by eliminating all would be start up's. In return we buy there product, no arrests no questions asked. A factor to be considered is that after a year or two of this policy, there would be few addicts left, if any, most likely a managable number.
