You know, the institution that never makes a mistake, never has anything go wrong, just absolutely perfect in everything it does. Surely, there must be such an organization, right? Hmmmm. I can't think of one. Forget organizations, how about a perfect individual? Anyone? I can't think of one of them, either.
Why should anyone believe our military would be any different from the rest of the human race? Civilian casualties are terrible. We take extraordinary measures to avoid them. However, no one is perfect. People make mistakes. Weapons malfunction. And innocent people die. That's reality, folks. Anyone who thinks a perfect war where no innocents suffer is possible is fooling himself and is either terribly naive or grossly ignorant of the military.
