Many other countries have been willing...
...and ready to supply troops, but the US has delayed asking for them. This has caused some political issues where the voters in these countries have asked "what are we doing to help?". Our diplomatic attitude has been "We will try it first with our boys and our toys."
At least that's what I heard on NPR the other day.
