Completely beside the point asI see it. . .

I kinda blame the pointless kangaroo Nuremburg trials for establishing this sense that war is somehow related to trials (not implying innocence to any of them, only that the trial was pointless), but this was not a 'crime', it was an act of war. It it the big time, it is out of the realm of courts and police and lawyers, it is into the realm of fighting for survival of a way of life, a realm where there is no room for these luxiries. Where evidence used is obtained by possibly unsavory means (toture? blackmail? death threats? spying on sensitive people and organazations? undercover agents and moles whos life are on the line if their presence is to be known? surveilence technology not publicly known?) and definitly 'not' admissible in any court. In this realm information is information no matter how you acheive it, and the information can be used to save lives and make valuable decisions and determine vital facts (like who did it) despite.

It should be obvious why this information cannot be disclosed, if person X found out that we had information on their organization taht they know only a handful of peopl would know, then they woudl realize one of those folks is a mole and someone on our side is going to die. Or an organization would double check and close a vulnerable spot in chain of information and shore that up, making one less area for our inteligence to exploit (9/11 showed we need as much intelligence info as we can get!!!).

I can understand the desire to want to knwo this evidence we have, of how we know Osama did it. I don't expect people to be trusting, I of all people have seriously doubted (and BBS history will verify this) that I did (past tense folks) not neccessarily beleive "Osama bin Laden", was the culprit on the foreign embassy bombings and on the Cole bombing. Just for the fact taht its easy to point a fnger at one person and it makes the public feel better when theres someone to blame. . . BUT with the severe nature of the WTC devastation, any country would be completely foolish to try to pin it on some "doctor goldstien" and not go after the real culpit. Because not going after the real perpetrator would leave them free to do it again. And since this perpetrator has shown themself capable of takng out the brightest financial minds this country has to offer as well as a major financial hub of this nation along with damaging the military heart of this country, to leave them free to plan and carry out a repeat would be of a criminal stupidity and negligence unheard if. In all of the Wars we've been in no country, not japan, not germany, not Korea, Vietnam or Iraq have succedded in such devastation, though they would have considered it such a victorious battle if they could only have caused such devastation to our homeland.

Since now is not the time for games, now is not the time for silly politics, now is the time to find who did it and go after them. The data and information we are working off of might be sensitive and must remain sensitive to continue gathering it, but logic dictates we have no other alterior motive than removing the threat to our country and that we can be trusted.
