I hope we have an effective plan in hand for when they decide to scatter and go for their guerilla tactics.
Its been a quarter of a century since Viet Nam, and we've learned a few tricks since then. Afghanistan is a hell of a lot harder to sneak around in than a jungle, especially when the sky is full of eyes. If they wish to "melt back into the hills," I hope they have a nice winter.
There will be a long period of mopping up, and of course there is still Kandahar, but I think we have won this one.
