Re: All good points on why it's not similar, but here's one that is:
The war in Afghanistan may actually last just as long, but not against a large communist mob like before, but a much smaller one that is spread out and may still be brewing and ready in years to come.
Just an observation from what I've learned since Sept. 11th.
