I read a book on the DC-3/C-47 some years ago...
and it showed how they used to airdrop pack mules in the China-Burma-India theater. I hope the mules were somewhat sedated. Mules have a reputation for stubborness in the best of circumstances. How would you like to be the poor bundle kickers who had to shove those mules out the door? Those were some big bundles that could kick back.
