Re: Please explain the immoral nature of cloning?

<What is wrong with it?
If "creating" life is so evil, why is ending life via abortion legal,

well thats just it, many of the people who do not want cloning do nt want abortion either. However I can argue agaist abrotion sufficiently on a secular level, but when it comes to cloning it is with all nonsecular values, but here it goes:

Christianity beleives that people have spirits and that they are created by God. Now, the Catholic Church, along with many other Christian churches forsee some hard trying questions ahead:

(keep in mind these are questions from thier perspectives)
1. what is "human" life?
2. how much can we modify it before it is no longer human?
3. do humans have spirit if they are not conceived normally?
4. if you clone a hand, does the hand have a spirit?
5. if you clone part of a brain does that part of a brain have a spirit?

and via euthanasia from Dr.s Ok with most?

nope, according to thier doctrine suicide is wrong, so as well is assisted suicide. Furhtermore one only has the right to kill another in self defence (war is self defence of course)

Are transplants wrong?

nothings been created or desroyed, the examples fail to match from here on. . .

is insulin?
What about animal derived therapies?

We "interfere" with nature constantly at every level.
Should we ban identical twins?
After all, they are clones.

yes but they were made with an entirely different process. Why should this matter how they are concevied? well, they beleive it is in conception that the spirits is granted (and thus why you can't kill a fetus).

well thats things from the nonsecular perspective. . .

FWIW: I am a Catholic
