Re: Why conservatives don't trust scientists

A distinction without a meaning. People gauge "scientist" by the "science" he or she does.

Conservatives have beliefs into which they force their world. Anthropromorphic global warming is one. Proven beyond a doubt.

However, they don't want to believe it, and the oil companies will reinforce that belief with high-dollar propaganda, and bingo - it doesn't exist. (Solving the problem might impact their life-style a bit.)

Evolution is a great one. Much evidence for it. Creationism - no evidence for it. Not a whit! Nothing. A bunch of "begats" in an old book. Conservatives will believe in Creationism because there isn't enough evidence for evolution.

Go figure. What is characteristic of these people is that if they don't understand it then it doesn't exist. And Conservatives understand so little. So very little. Including themselves.
