$8,000 apiece?!
Think I'll wait a while. Scooting down the walkway on a little 8-G scooter, only to be clocked from it by some perp looking for his next meal ticket seems shaky. I'll need more of them on the road -- er, sidewalk -- before setting myself up as a potential target.
I like the idea of the Segway and will probably have one, should they manage to stick around for a few, but I'm a little apprehensive about light, easy to use, 'rare', expensive toys -- that just happen to have high visibility in the downtown/neighborhood areas.
Whether Ginger will turn out to "be to the car what the car was to the horse and buggy" calls for a LOT of imagination. It may replace the $0.50 downtown lunch-shuttle, but until they improve on the trunk space and weatherize it with walls and a roof, I think they're a long way from replacing the automobile.
Do they come with knobby snow tires?
What does the new Segway taxi look like?
