Why did Russia fail so miserably in Afghanistan for so many years?
Hello,
I have been asking myself why so many countries warned us about the difficulty of fighting a war in Afghanistan when it has been relatively easy.
I mean we have lost what, a handful of soldiers and taken every major city in a matter of weeks when Russia fought for so many years with huge losses. Is our military/techniques that superior, were these Afghan fighters overrated as much as the Iraq army was several years ago, did we learn from these others countries faliures - a combination of them all?
