Yes, Yes, and Yes

And our Military is not as tied to the "Military Industrial Complex" and political graft as the conspiracy theorists would like you to believe. That tired old story is all a bunch of crap spewed by an anti-military, anti-America, and anti-western values propaganda machine.

The Pentagon should be applauded. They have learned from their past mistakes and the mistakes of other military forces. They have studied military history and tactics and learned their lessons well enough to apply them to situations like the one in Afghanistan.

They invested heavily in the education of their officer corps, training their "grunts", and in developing the best military equipment possible. Where better weapons system's aren't available, they have made the most with what they have. Weapons system performance analysis and continuous improvement has become standard operating procedure as the Pentagon has learned to never be caught flat footed. The investment has paid off handsomely in terms of brilliant military and diplomatic success.

Of course some would say it is all a sham and it cost too much. They are wrong. Its your children that would be sacrificed on a battle field should the anti-military lobby get its way and force the US and NATO to let their defenses deteriorate. Its a good thing that many people have dedicated their efforts to stop that from happening.
