From the Times.
In three months, with the loss of four men, we have annihilated the government of Afghanistan and their terrorist cohorts, and sent them fleeing like mice in front of a flamethrower. The leadership, seemingly unwilling to die for the cause like their hapless underlings, are scattered, running shrieking like little girls. Our machines reach out from the skies and hunt them down. Bombs the size of automobiles shred them like paper. Gunships spray bullets like a firehose.
A hard lesson is being learned by our enemies, one which we seem to have to teach over and over again, but hopefully not too many more times:
Nobody, but nobody, fucks with us.*
If this lesson is being taken to heart in the seats of power in other countries, where other terrorists are laying low, then maybe we are really getting the job done.
Our weapons get better every year. Hell, they get better every week. We're spending billions cooking up new ones right now. In twenty years we'll be able to defeat our attackers without a single U.S. citizen leaving our shores. God, it's good to be an American!
*Pardon my Belgian.
Mopping up...
