This is one of the all-time great lost-love ballads, at least in its English rendition, and an easy listening favorite when you could still hear that kind of soothing but oft' scorned music.
Pray tell, Raoul: what is the substance of the original French lyrics?
I read the article, but didn't see any of Gilbert Bécaud's other titles listed and thought some might be familiar to us Anglo's. He will be missed.
