It seems that bad descisions always have a lawyer in the equation somewhere.
A lawyer failed to allow the firing of a missle at Momar's convoy early in the war. In this situation FBI lawyers ignored the agent's request for a warrant. It goes on and on, let's wait awhile, not just yet, it wouldn't be prudent.
I have some good friends that are lawyers and on occasion they have helped me pick up the pieces of things gone wrong. On the other hand, I operated a company owned by a highly regarded attorney in NOLA and it was a miserable experience. He was totally paranoid that any tiny contingency in a deal would lead to disaster no matter how unlikely it might be.
Lawyers should never be involved in any go forward decision. Left to them, nothing gets done.
