Robert, I have heard of that particular method of scamming.
One thing I have done is disable the autodial on my browser, turn off the 'wake-on-ring' setting and removed internet access for most of my programs.
I am careful to watch where my browser goes also, including checking the dial out number it uses.
I have a firewall, AV software, port access notifications and Fireeyes.
Even with all that I have no personal information on this system.
Slick helped me to do as much as humanly possible to insure all the security I could have.
I am paranoid, and intend to stay that way. If a website wants my home address and phone number, I close the window and move on.
What else can you do? There are many online who try to get our money, identity or glean our personal information for whatever reason.
Thanks for the warning about that particular leech program.
