Euro
In a few hours, 306 Million Europeans will all start living under the same currency, the Euro.
There is no huge big festive evening expected, it's a low key event.
However, it's the first time in the history of mankind that so many countries (12) willingly adopt a new currency (it always had been induced by wars, colonialism or severe economical crisis; this time it's a deliberate choice.) I just saw hundreds of people lining up at the bank, this morning. I've got my Euro-kit but will stick to electronic money (in the hope the system doesn't crash).
