Re: Then it's another Republican victory . . .

I seriously doubt a Jew could win a presidential race in the next two (2) campaigns. If Lieberman takes the Democrat seat for the run, then Bush, or just about any other Republican, becomes a shoo-in. I have nothing against Jews. Hell, some of my best kids have been Jewish.

The problem, though, is American ignorance, which feeds the overall American attitude:

* First of all, there is stigma against a Jewish president (surprise!), regardless of his work ethics.

* Second there is the issue with Israel and Palestine, and a need for U.S. intervention (no one else is gonna do it).

Seriously, which side would he take -- Palestine, or Israel?

The correct answer should be neither. Lieberman would have to serve as an unbiased negotiator, and he would have to hammer both sides for their crimes -- and there have been many.

The answer America would come up with, however, is Israel, regardless of what Lieberman says he would do. He's a politician, right? That makes him a very qualified liar, and, sadly, there's not a damned thing he, or I, or you, can do about it.

Of course, things still do change -- but it’s a real pity people don’t,
Dan
