If Enron is so well-connected, why aren't they doing just great instead of looking up from Lake Ty-De-Bowl? Seems to me all their "connections" weren't all that useful. Right now the Bush administration apparently stands accused of answering the phone when Enron called.

And although I'm certainly not defending the sleazy practices of the Enron management, I also have little sympathy for employees who choked their portfolios almost exclusively with Enron stock as it skyrocketed and increased the paper value of their accounts by leaps and bounds. It was fun when the stock was going through the roof for no apparent reason, wasn't it?
