Here in MA the legislature is 80% Democratic. Recently, they emasculated a Clean Elections Law by refusing to fund it. One voter initiative stymied. Now they are working to rescind ballot initiative that mandated the state income tax rollback of a "temproary" tax increase passed in 1990. They rationalize that the public did not know we'd be in these troubled times, etc. There is always the attitude that they know better than the unwashed. They can say what they want, but the law of the land supports initiative petition.
