All life has never been precious to me, Lindy.
I appreciate the fact that the fish I caught in my youth were living at the time, but I preferred them in my skillet. I even like the fact that there is a slaughterhouse to keep my grocer fully stocked with meats.
Of course, that's outside the realm of the argument here. The issue here is 'human' life.
Would I lay down my life for another?
I would sincerely hope to survive the event, but I would readily step into harms way for another. I could even forgive a wounding shot fired in error, and I would certainly step in to accept the impact, the knife, the bullet intended for an innocent -- but, should I happen to survive, heaven help the intentional assailant.
No, Lindy. All life is not precious to me.
