Based on what has been reported by reasonable people on all sides, we are pretty much following the GC with these guys. There are some exceptions.

We are not providing them with sports equipment or the opportunity to participate in team sports. We are not allowing them to form leadership councils and conduct meetings. Should we?

While I fully support humane treatment and no torture, I see no reason to grant these guys full GC rights. There are plenty of reasons that they don't qualify. What rights would you like for them to have that they don't already have?

They wore no military uniform.
They serve no state.
Virtually every deed constituted a war crime.

The prisoners that are found to be grunts that were just followings orders may be repatriated sooner under the current conditions than they would under GC. Powell proposes that they be granted GC rights pending military review. Sounds like a chicken or egg situation to me.

And yes, lets get out of Saudi Arabia. I am willing to pay whatever it takes for fuel but there are other factors that may make this more difficult than just saying it and doing it.
