Churches have always been political. What is disturbing is the idea that we can keep restricting speech without losing liberty

The restrictions in the Constitution regarding religion and speech are those on the government, not on religion and speakers.
Yet today, in the name of campaign finance reform, we are apparently stumbling into blatant government control of our most precious commodity, free political discourse.
And now, people are somehow forgetting that the free practice of religion has ALWAYS had political overtones, and that somehow the seperation of church and state means that the state decides what kind of activities are properly religious in nature.
This is very very disturbing.
And totally unconstitutional.
Fredom may be unpleasant to some, but I would submit that restricting freedom is terrible ultimately to us all.
