Yesterday, the New York Times printed an op-ed piece by Bob Herbert (requires registration) smearing judicial nominee Charles Pickering as a racist. Yesterday, Senate Democrats continued on this theme during confirmation hearings. Too bad for them but it appears their case, spearheaded by the so-called People for the American Way is based on lies.

Legal Times, far from a conservative publication, has published an article refuting the charges against Pickering, as has the admittedly conservative National Review Online. Even Charles Evers, bother of the slain civil rights leader Medger Evers, published an article yesterday in the Wall Street Journal defending Pickering's record and character.

And to think that some people wonder why I'm refusing to ever vote for a Democrat again as long as I live. If this is how Democrats operate, then none of them will ever receive a vote from me.
