Funny thing here is at the STATE level the all Democrat house and Senate shot down a heavily voter approved (not by me) "clean elections" bill. Why? Because this particular bill would have ever so slightly reduced the edge that incumbents have over someone new running against them.
What is so amusing is that newspapers like the Boston Globe (now owned by the NYT) have written numerous editorials railing against this override of the public voting process at the same time that the same editorial pages urge that the legislature overturn the voter passed tax reduction bill! The bill that reduces the temporary tax passed over a decade ago in gradual steps back "down" to the 5% level. It would be hilarious if not sad.
