"What could possibly go wrong?" is widely used. I didn't make it up.

"I am not making this up" was a common bit for the humor writer David Barry, but I doubt he was the first.

"Pig through a python" is common in informal statistics. I've heard it most often used to refer to Baby Boomers moving through the entitlement system.
