Re: Meme generation survey
The whole "where's my car" line is a meme, often modified by other nouns. "Dude" never vanished completely, although it was introduced to a whole new generation in "The Great Lebowski".
My first boat was almost named "Spooky Dude", but fortunately, reason intervened in time.
There was a time there for a while when Dudes were everywhere; black dudes, white dudes, straight dudes, heavy dudes, just about any carbon life form could be a Dude, as well as any particularly interesting inanimate object and of course, we can't forget the useful and unforgettable "Lookit that DUDE!"
I guess you had to be there. Just remember, Cheech and Chong dialog is not an act, I spent most of graduate school talking like that.
