Colombia is on my 'don't travel to ever' spots. I would sooner walk the streets of Baghdad or Teheran right now than Bogota. A lot of the news from this region is underreported intentionally - but if one follows it, it is unique in that it is ALL bad.

Although a US-led Afghanistan type campaign in this region could weed out a lot of bad apples...and I'm sure our success in Afghanistan is inspiring some aggressive possible solutions to the gang-ruled streets and jungle drug-lord hideouts.
