It was a strange call

I watched the race last weekend where Ohno was taken out by the Korean skater (who had been fouled by the Chinese skater) and the judges didn't rerun the race. That call seemed questionable. Then there was the decision in the 1500m against the Korean skater. That call also was questionable. The Korean skater did appear to cut Ohno off on the curve but it didn't seem flagrant. I hope it wasn't a case where the judges tried to make up for an earlier bad call with another one.

Between what happened to the Canadian pairs team, Ohno, and the Russian skater last night, something tells me the skating organization will have to take a long hard look at their rules and judging processes. Some of that has already been announced.

For the record, the call about the Russian skater last night seems pretty weak. Hughes skated a perfect program that impressed everyone who saw it. The Russian skater made several mistakes and wasn't nearly as impressive.
