You know, Dan, I appreciate the efforts you are going through to get us other points of view, but I could almost have done without this one. ;)

Mr. Bush asks why people in other countries hate America so much. How can they hate us? Do they not see that America is really a genteel parent who, although at times needs to chastise the child, still does all in the best interests of him or her? When we obliterated Iraq in 1991, it was in her best interests; she had transgressed and she must be punished. Should she throw out Saddam Hussein, all would be forgiven. When we annihilated the Taliban, it was in the best interests of the people of Afghanistan. When we force other states to open their doors to global capitalism via IMF and World Bank and bring "McWorld" to all people in all lands, do they not realize it is out of love for them that we do as such?

Yeah, Hussein was just sitting on his back porch drinking Mai Tais when we decided to attack his forces. It wasn't like he was attacking Kuwait to corner the oil market or anything. And hey, what did the Taliban ever do to us? Danged if I can remember.

And what really galls me is when someone eventually tells this screeching asshole that he's as full of shit as a Christmas goose, he will immediately whine that we are trying to "control his thoughts." In his mind, "free speech" means that no one has the right to say you're wrong.
