It may be annoying, but it's true.
See my other post. If it wasn't for the U.S., Europe, Africa, Asia, and most of South America would probably be totalitarian cesspools.
Of course, the good news would be that every two-bit rebellion and terrorism problem around the world would be Nazi and Soviet problems, not ours.
Of course, our own country would probably have to devolve to a military garrison to keep from being overrun, so I doubt that it would be much of an improvement over the other nations. Yech.
