Thanks for 'kind and tolerant'... I do try, but -

A looney is still a looney, and I know how to spot one!

Re: street-corner pamphleteering... I was harkening back to the 1970s (my 20s), spent living and working in downtown Philadelphia, known to the locals as Center City. It seemed then that strange causes and their adherents sprouted through the cracks in the pavement every spring: Krishnas, Moonies, chanters of "nam yoko renge kyo", Jews for Jesus... some I can't even remember. At the time, I collected the more off-beat handouts (and requests for handouts of the other kind); unfortunately lost in one of my frequent changes of residence.

And... You know how much I despise 'PC', though I may have posted such under a former name. I'm at least as willing as the next person to respect another's sensitivities, having some of my own, but I'll still call an entrenching tool a spade.
