Washington -
What's this? Our Attorney General Seems to like posing in front of naked women. Yes, the women are metallic and a bit hard-edged, but John Ashcraft makes a point to position himself strategically.
Yes, you may have heard he is a religious man and a devout Christian - so why does he go out of his way to position himself under ample bosoms with hardened nipples? Could it be that he has had an epiphany? Could it be that he is unaware of where he is standing? Or is it something more Oedipus-like in nature? Could it be that he has stolen her garments like he has stolen our civil liberties and trampled them? Has Justice burned her bar in protest of Ashcroft's policies? Whatever it is we here will keep you informed of the strange antics of our Attorney General/Classic art supporter.

Hi Lindy,
This is the sort of piece that would be written by the alternative lifestyle folks at the Bee and elsewhere if he did nothing. So he covers them up, he loses - he doesn't cover them he loses.
But one can't pass up the opportunity either way.
Go ahead. Sit back, have a shot or six of tequila, take a deep breath, steel yourself and listen to the tune again. Sing along, even. Wave a flag, stroke a rifle barrel and feel, just feel your sense of all that is good and right and remotely melodious in the world wither and die. Soar, eagle, soar.
This passage makes me think Tom's assessment of bitter, off-the-deep-end reporters is right on the money. In this reporters case you wonder if Bush gets re-elected what he will do with his rifle besides stroke it - somebody might want to call the suicide hotline for this guy a couple years early.
Amused yet saddened simultaneously.
Take care Lindy!
