AA and the loss of tens of thousands of jobs
Here's a story that shows some of the consequences of the politicians actions on the Arthur Anderson Enron debacle. Whay say? Is it a good thing that tens of thousands of people will now lose their jobs as a result of this? Does this misery FIX the problem? I don't think so.
Me, in the accounting side, I'd rather see...
* The responsible individuals go to jail or be appropriately punished
* The firm pay a hefty fine, one that takes ALL the bonus money due partners but leaves the 80,000 workers salaries
* Acconting practices re-vamped such that firms cannot both consult for and audit a client (Duh!)
