Current reports are that the plane was a Rockwell Commander 112TC

At least, that's what this article say. That isn't a very big plane. Unlike what the article says, the 112TC is a 4 seat single engine plane, not a twin. It's nice looking but kind of gutless, performance wise. CNN identified the plane as a Rockwell Commander A112 (actually, that would be 112A), a plane even more gutless than the 112TC (turbocharged).
