I can't say as I am surprised though - Europe is in the grips of immigration overload and even moderates are fed up with the status quo.

The same conditions helped bring men like Hitler into power - men who promised to put things right.

As for a Joan of Arc fetish - that's the ultimate French Nationalistic symbol, naturally a French nationalist will wrap himself up in Joan of Arc...hold press conferences from Domremy, etc. ;-)
