Here's an analysis of disturbing US style gun crimes in Europe. Despite extreme anti-gun laws, somehow murders always manage to get access to these weapons. The all encompasing welfare state approach has not decreased crime, instead crime has increased at an increasing rate (2nd derivative). Older Europeans feel insecure as the crime rate rises.
