The Palestinians experience with Ariel Sharon over the last 22 years is has been grim beyond belief. Sharon deliberately picked this fight with the Palestinians, and was elected by the Israeli public.
The Israeli experience with Palestinians after the UN appropriated Palestine for the Israelis has been grim. The Palestinians really, really wanted 'em gone, for good.
Don't know that the latest experience has a chance of anything but exacerbating the problems. I can't say I blame either one of them, I don't know that I don't blame 'em both.
But, if I were Palestinian I wouldn't accept whatever Sharon calls "peace". No Palestinian leader could accept what's happened.
If I were Israeli I might be cheering him on, and I sure wouldn't expect "peace". You can't humiliate a people like that and expect "peace". I wouldn't expect "peace" as long as the country was invading another peoples area and building settlements. Wouldn't make sense.
Sharon really belongs at the end of a noose.
