Throwing this out for discussion. Last night on the PBS McNeil News Hour, or whatever it's called, there was a panel of folks on the Israeli - Palestinian situation. One guy said something interesting.
He said in his travels he saw a concensus for what will be the final result of the situation. It will be very similar to the Camp David solution.
Palestine will get nationhood, and Israel will be recognized by the rest of the Middle Eastern nations. There will be borders between Palestine and Israel, and all the other trappings of a nation.
Israel will give up a number of the smaller settlements, keep the bigger. Israel will not build any more settlements on Palestinan land, fer sure this time.
Palestine will get some land and financial compensation.
This guy said that a year ago he discussed this with an Israeli lawyer. The lawyer said there was really no other solution than this, and added
"It's all over but the body count."
