Sharon's earlier "interim" offer was for half, and this agress with the threat he made when Arafat earlier announced his intention to declare statehood.
Given the current settlement activity, and Sharon's endorsement and promotion of it, I don't look for a reasonable initial offer, but we'll all find out shortly.
Paying for a wall between these two peoples would be far, far cheaper than the economic consequences we've been suffering from this conflict. Paying for a wall that promotes furhter seizure of Palestinian lands would be folly of the first magnitude.
