I think Capitalism will develop alternatives to oil. I think we are well on our way now. I hate to admit it, but our farm policy which seems to be hell bent on maintaining the lowest possible prices for grain may be aimed at keeping the price of oil low: If grain prices are low enough, then ethanol and soy diesel are economically feasable alternatives to Middle Eastern Oil. I just wonder if the farm subsidies can be sustained.
