Matt.......
A famous israeli author said ........ ( I'm paraphrasing here) ..........
That the Jews Moral right to settle in the land of Palestine (he was talking about the peiod immediately after the end of WW2) was that of a drowning man who spots a lifeboat and climbs in.
He went on to say that that same man had no right to then pull a gun... order most of those already in the boat over the side and force the few remaining to do all the hard work of rowing on the barest minum of rations needed to keep them alive.
An anaylsis I agree with.
On the other hand if you are going to argue that the Jewish right to the whole of Palestine... a land that was owned, worked and home for two thousand years to another people........... is entirely justified by the Torah... I give up.
I do not choose to base my life around a text written 8,000 years ago for a semi-nomadic, bronze age, desert dwelling society.
The Jews used terror to establish a foothold in Palestine.... They hung British army seargeants from lamp posts... the blew up the St Davids hotel wiping out a large chunk of the british army there... the same army that had done so much to help free them from the Nazis only a few years earlier.
And they are building those settlements with YOUR money. Money you were told was being used to allievate the suffering of poor peoples around the world.
