Of course you're right. And, it would take a certain amount of trust. That's not there.

It would also take the Israelis stopping building settlements on Palestinian territory. They are not willing to do that. It's sort of humorous to see GWB telling Arafat to stop the violence while the Israelis are still building. Many people in the US can't see the "humor", in other parts of the world they can.

And, there's a lot which doesn't make any sense at all. For instance, no administration, Democrat or Republican, has been able to have any impact on illegal immigration or the importation of drugs.

How do these people think they can have an impact on terrorism? I mean, if you can smuggle 100 tons of marijuana into this country, distribute it to every city, town and village, collect money, and send it back to wherever, what's to stop you from doing anything.

The same people and the same tactics. Don't work against cocaine, ain't gonna work against a determined terrorist.

The answer, of course, is that we can bomb the terrorists into submission or death. Well, we've done that, and this weekend there are warnings about small airplanes, scuba divers, and everything in between.

And we can't even find many of them. As I've posted, OBL is apparently out there, Saddam is, Qaddafi is loose, all of whom we've tried to "get".

Might need some new ideas in addition to the old.
