Investigating an active case is a little different from sitting at a desk and reading reports. While hindsight is 20/20 (depending upon the angle of perception), it is also a great way to find errors, as well as to isolate how these errors were propagated. If the “how” of the issue does indeed point to failings in the ranks, the I would have to commend Ms. Rowley for a job well done.
Now, if it should also turn out that she is one hell of a desk-jockey, the best FBI paper-shuffler in the land, the finest who-done-it solver of Agatha Christi novels in the world (particularly in second/third/fourth readings), but she can just barely wow an average 10-year-old in a game of Clue, then I’d say she should be looking into retirement prospects, and soon.
Not enough data. I’ll have to see who jumps on her bandwagon.
