If I had a nickel for every government bureaucrat who got promoted after a screwup, I would be bitching even harder about my taxes. This also goes for a lot of areas other than the FBI.
Lately, certain private corporations have also been rewarding executives who have screwed up royally, and this is not going to do them any good either in the long run.
